What it means for you

Medicaid Waivers, sometimes called Home and Community Based Services (HCBS), allow Medicaid to fund supports and services for children and adults with disabilities in their family homes or community residential programs instead of institutions. Medicaid Waivers allow an individual to use traditional Medicaid services and the additional services available through the Medicaid Waiver program.

The Medicaid Waiver changes that. Individuals can now be supported to live in their own home and engage in the community, as they choose.

For more information regarding the Medicaid Waiver program, contact the Bureau of Disabilities Services (BDS). For eligible individuals, covered services may be paid through Indiana Medicaid waiver funding, subject to eligibility, authorization, and program requirements. Alved Services also accepts private pay for individuals who do not qualify for the waiver.
